Administer a nationwide initiative to enhance the proficiency of clinical laboratories.

DAS holds the responsibility for managing the entry and proliferation of infectious diseases. Additionally, it offers consultation and aid to other countries and international organizations, contributing to the enhancement of their disease prevention and control, environmental health, and health promotion endeavors.

What We Do

DAS provides unique, critical services that no other agency provides.

What do we stand for?

DAS is dedicated to securing global health and fortifying America's preparedness. Our efforts involve revitalizing public health infrastructure, curbing the spread of contagions and vector-borne diseases, and addressing bioterrorism threats.

Our mission extends beyond borders — we strive to prevent, detect, and respond to diseases worldwide, ensuring they do not breach the United States. Through comprehensive vaccination coverage, we aim to mitigate the impact of pandemics, prevent diseases like measles, and ultimately eradicate polio from every nation.

Moreover, DAS actively contributes to the implementation of the Global Health Security Agenda, a concerted global initiative to enhance the world's capacity to prevent, detect, and respond to infectious disease threats. Collaborating directly with partner country governments, we focus on strengthening public health systems and diminishing the risk of infectious disease outbreaks.
